Over the years, Apple has added a variety of features to Safari to make this process easier. The desire to get to certain sites quickly isn’t new, of course. URL Pinner supports syncing across Chrome browsers. With the pinned tab selected, enter the shortcut again and the tab will be unpinned. The tab will be pinned and moved to the left of all current tabs. Open any URL and enter the keyboard shortcut you just set. Check the box next to the option and click Save. Be careful the shortcut you enter doesn’t clash with an OS shortcut. Click in the input box next to it and record your shortcut by pressing the shortcut key combination. In order to pin a tab in Chrome, you must right-click the tab and select ‘Pin Tab’ from the context menu. Pinned tabs have been part of Chrome for a long time but to this day, there is no keyboard shortcut support for them. When you click a link inside a pinned tab, it will always open in a new tab guaranteeing you never accidentally navigate away from the pinned URL. The pinned tab feature is best used for websites you need to have open all the time such as your email. They also take up less space on the tabs bar making them easier to work with. Pinned tabs can’t be closed accidentally as they do not have a close button.
